WORK IN PROGRESS 3

A LONG COLD WINTER

The water was frosen 3 weeks, The oven was not functioning well, it was 13 degrees indoors, the computer did not work for 2 weeks.Could it bee worse?Yes, it could...then the horrible earthquake happened in Haiti,   and I had to see my miserable situation in another light.
Anyway, it´s difficult to work and get things to happen when the mere existence is out of order... but still worse in Haiti.
I went to visit my son´s family near Stockholm. By train, one of these very grey, white and beautiful winterdays.

Through the train window I experienced the landscape like a piece of grafic  art.

My son and his family, lives in the countryside near Stockholm.
I feel very happy for them and for me as I have got a little granddaughter, Ana Maria, who calls me grandma.

Back at home, most of the practical things are in order and I have continued my embroidery.
Here is the left side of the khadeen where seeds are growing and children dancing and singing the song about the frog who sings to the cloud. This is what happened when the Moonsoon rain started to fall.
At least in the ancient times.

So here I am now, you may think that this work takes too long time, that´s true.
Work is interupted by many practical and also joyful happenings and it´s difficult to get a long
unbroken day for work.
Today I went to the swimhall to swim for better condition and for joy and in the afternoon I met with my "seed-sisters" to decide which seeds we would order for the next garden-season.Spring and summer is coming also after a long and cold winter!
Till next time

WORK IN PROGRESS 2

SUNNY COLD AND CALM DAYS
The first days in year 2010 come with some problems. The water is freesing in the watersystem. I´m trying to thaw it with an electrical heater. No result up to now.Maybe I must wait for summertime?
Anyhow Nature is beautiful and the daily walk is so inspiring.

I wish a Happy and fruitful New Year for all of us!

I look forward to a period of intense work in the studio.I START THIS WORK IN PROGRESS SERIE IN THE FORMER BLOG, please return back if you want to follow.
Slowly, slowly I´m trying to find out how to balance the old embroidery with the new stiches and the story I want to tell. Here I have tried to solve how a peacock could be pictured.
PRINT THE PICTURES TO MAKE THEM BIGGER!
